I am an Australian Cinematographer and Director of Photography based in Sydney with over 22+ years of experience across Feature, Documentary and Commercial Content.
My most recent work includes:
Feature length films “From All Sides”, “Hostile Forces”, “The Combination Redemption”, “The Pretend One”, “What Will become of Us”, “Conquering the Storm”, “Zach’s Ceremony”, “Thrown into this World” and “Legacy”.
Streaming / TV series “Netflix Break Point Tennis Documentary S1 and S2”, “Apple TV+ Make or Break S1 and S2”, “Untitled Amazon Natural History Documentary”, MTV: Total Request Live”, “Making Families Happy” and various shows for “ Rooster Teeth” and the “Disney Channel”
Commercial Content for Westpac, ANZ, Commonwealth Bank, St George, NAB, Zurich, Global Citizien, PWC, Accenture, Charter Hall, LG, Chivas, Amazon, Xero, Google, Salesforce, Pacific Magazines, Mecca, Fujifilm, Redbull, Kia, Jaguar, Australian Defence Force, NBA, Nature’s own, Ancestry, V Energy, Acciona, Lendlease, Tesselate, DHL, Caroma, Sony, Coke, Optus and Virgin.
Some of the projects I have worked on have been lucky enough to win some awards. Zach’s Ceremony won “Audience Choice Award” at both SIFF and MIFF, the TVC “Sea Shepard” won a Canne Lion and Mumbrella: Campaign of the year, 35 Letters won “Best Documentary” at SIFF, I was also nominated by AACTA for “Best Cinematography in a documentary” and won “Best Feature length Documentary” and the International 3D Society for “Best 3D in a Documentary” for my work on Storm Surfers 3D. I have also received numerous awards over the years from my peers at the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS).
“I think the point of cinematography, of what we do, is intimacy. Is intent, is the balance between the familiar and the dream, it is being subjective and objective, it is being engaged and yet standing back and noticing something that perhaps other people didn’t notice before, or celebrating something that you feel is beautiful or valid, or true or engaging in some way.”
